Cancelling from Hi5

Back to this blog after a long break... reporting about experiments.

I'm back to this blog after a very long break (I was finishing another book) and want to stop posting book fragments (for now) and get back to reporting about experiments in social networks.

After signing up to too many networks for the sake of experiments, I decided to cancel some of my accounts. Having looked at the steps, I know some of these canceling operations won't be easy.

The first was canceling from hi5, where I had a total of 2 friends and almost no actual activity. Going in the account page there is a link for canceling the account, and after a warning that all of my data will be wiped and a request for entering a confirmation password, the account was deleted. After that step, I was bumped to an online survey trying to figure out why I was removing my account. Among the options I noticed the "I've met a person and don't need to look for others" options, that was quite revealing of the main goal of hi5, that of being a dating service.

I'll cancel from more commuinities and let you know how it goes.
